Mount Buller
Few mountains can beat Mt Buller for impact, especially with a full cover of snow on a sunny day.
Even on the approach, through the rolling hills near Mansfield, it dominates the skyline with its huge white-backed ridge. Easy access, a superb terrain mix and an interesting selection of non-ski/snowboard activities add to Mt Buller’s appeal. The mountain has some of Australia’s steepest terrain, but it also has some long and encouraging runs like Family Run or Little Buller Spur to help skiers and snowboarders find their feet. Accommodation is family-friendly and mostly ski-in/ski-out, with good choices in self catering lodges and apartments and fully catered lodges and hotels.
